Kisa Gbekle
Actress Kisa Gbekle last week engaged in a high speed chase with robbers who attempted snatching her unregistered 2015 model Sonata around Dome, a suburb of Accra.
Kisa was returning from a movie set at about 2:00am when the incident took place, but she managed to get away from her attackers.
She confirmed the robbery attempt to NEWS-ONE and said the incident took place along the Atomic road to Dome roundabout road.
Kisa narrated that she was followed until she decided to stop at a food joint, where there were guys and shouted for help before she was saved.
“We closed on set late by 1:20am because we were finishing up the job. I always go with a male colleague who stays at Haatso Total. So after work, we passed Coco Vanilla for 10 minutes and then we used the IPS road.
On the Haatso road, the police barrier wasted like 20 minutes of our time before my friend got down at the Haatso Total. So on my way, I saw this red Matiz car that overtook some cars and then came ahead of me.
At that time, I was still playing with my phone. So on getting to the beginning of the Atomic forest, the red car was slowing down but wasn’t showing any sign on which side it was going,” the actress disclosed.
She continued, “Then I overtook it and some two other cars. Then I saw there was a car that overtook those cars and following me with same speed. But I didn’t know it was me they were following, so I passed the Atomic Police Station and on reaching the first rump, they came so very close with a speed. Then it triggered me that they may be following me.”
So I accelerated to 80, 90,100, and they did same and we entered a sharp curve at the Kwabenya Domi roundabout. The road was very bad there; I didn’t slow down at all. I maintained my speed, they kept following. I overtook some cars and they did as well,” she narrated.
Kisa mentioned that upon reaching another small roundabout ahead, there was traffic “so I didn’t join the cars, I took the wrong road and entered my lane again with speed and they also kept coming. Then I parked in front of one woman who does Indomie around. God being so good, there were some guys there and I started shouting, ‘they are following me’. ‘That car is following me’.. and was pointing at them. Then the cars we overtook at the roundabout followed them to where I was parked.”
“They didn’t know what to do so, they slowed down and driving at a very slow pace. And the one driving was a very huge macho. He gave me a very mean look when I was screaming,” she added.
The actress identified the car as a white Honda but could not identify its registration number.
It is about the third time Kisa has been attacked by robbers. The first time, they broke into her apartment and went away with her goodies while she was at church. The second incident was when robbers again broke into her car and make away with jewellery and other valuables.
