Two persons were arrested Saturday dawn in connection with the killing of three persons in Bimbilla in the Nanumba North District of the Northern Region.
The duo- Abdulai Kassim and Wumbei Mohammed- allegedly masterminded the attack.
Alhassan Hardi and Alhassan Issah, who are said to have fired the gunshots on the motorbike, are currently on the run.
According to reports, the arrests were made by a team of police officers and investigators from the Northern Regional Police Command who visited the area.
The suspects have been transported to Tamale to assist in police investigations.
The curfew hours were reviewed after three persons were killed.
Security has subsequently been beefed up in the district capital and the residents have been advised to stop gathering in the town.
Meanwhile, the authorities have also banned the transportation of more than one person on motorbikes in Bimbilla and its environs, as well drumming and dancing.
The curfew is expected to last 12 hours daily from 6pm to 6am.
Fusheini Issahaku, 35, Abdul Bassist Osman, 28, and Salifu Razak, 35, were pronounced dead on arrival at the Bimbilla Hospital.
Ten victims, who suffered gunshot wounds, were rushed to the Bimbilla Government Hospital for treatment.
Five others namely Mohammed Alabani, 60, Mohammed Shani, 46, Fusheni Mohammed Gadafi, 35, Mohammed Yahaya, 25, and Iddrisu Alimiyaw, 28, who are in critical condition, have been referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Adam Yakubu, 30, and Ibrahim Musah are currently responding to treatment at the Bimbilla Hospital.
The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said that at about 9.20pm on Thursday, two unidentified armed men on a motorbike briefly stopped at the centre of the town, near the hospital junction, opened fire on a group of people and sped off.
According to him, all the victims are perceived to be sympathizers of the Nakpa-Naa in the Bimbilla conflict.
