Mast Collapsed On One Person

The mast fell on the vehicle 

A tall mast mounted on top of a four-storey building at Kojokrom lorry station in Takoradi collapsed yesterday and fell on a trader, injuring her in the process.

The long tower also fell on a stationary vehicle in the area and damaged parts of the car.

The male trader who got injured was quickly rushed to the Effa-Nkwanta Hospital and reports indicated he was in critical condition.

ASP Olivia Adiku, Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), disclosed that the incident occurred at about 2:30pm.

She stated that the mast which was fixed on top of a storey building at Kojokrom lorry station collapsed and fell on a Toyota mini bus with the number AC 1246-16 and a nearby kiosk.

One person, Abdul Laziz Mumuni, 36, who was in the kiosk at the time of the incident sustained severe injuries.

“He had been rushed to Effia-Nkwanta Government Hospital, where he is receiving treatment,” the police PRO indicated.
