The senior high division of the Seven Great Princes Academy scored 930 points to place first among its two other competitors to win the ultimate trophy in this year’s Seven Great Sports Festival staged at the Kaneshie Sports Complex and the Dansoman branch of the school which climaxed last Friday.
The three day sporting fiesta supervised by the Deputy Director General in charge of technical of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Saka Acquaye and former Black Stars player Sam Johnson saw the Dansoman JHS branch of the school came second with 760 points.
Latebiorkorshie branch of the school placed third with 720 points in a talent hunting competition which encompassed disciplines such as athletics, football, basketball, scrabble and table tennis.
All three divisions of the school received certificates of participation, trophies and individual awards.
Julius Boateng received the most promising athlete award while Sharon Aganah got the most outstanding female athlete award.
Wisdom Ayirigya was awarded the most outstanding male athlete and best footballer award.
Director of the school, Raphael Brown, stated that their aim for the competition is to hunt talents for the national cause while honing the skills of talented young athletes who would take over from aging nationals.
He lauded athletes who took part in the sports festival saying the school is poised towards becoming a centre of academic and sports excellence.
