Lamini Begs For Kotoko

Head of Africa campaign, Alhaji Abu Lamini, has apologized profusely to fans of Asante Kotoko but urged them to remain resolute behind the club following their first round exit from the CAF Confederations Cup competition.

Alhaji, who appeared worried on Friday said “We are sorry for the disappointment.  It is unfortunate because we targeted the money zone of the competition, that was our plan, but things didn’t go the way we expected, the fans should forgive us.

“Coaches are credited when there is success so the sack is normal, especially in the face of the defeat. We are putting measures in place to make amends to appease our fans. We are sorry for the disappointment.”

He also mentioned that “We will sit with whoever is taking over to ensure he succeeds. Fans should continue to rally behind the club. I have spoken with Dr Kyei, and I must say he wants the best for Kotoko.

“Management is still in talks with coach Paa Kwesi, the team’s attacking machinery ought to be augmented, even if we will have go beyond our borders we will do so, we have tasked Akakpo Patron, the deputy coach to do that.”

He said management was expected to meet with axed coach Pollack over the weekend to iron out any difference and part ways mutually.

Kotoko suffered first round exit from the CAF Confederations Cup at the hands of Congo Brazzaville’s CARA, losing 6-7 on penalties on Wednesday.
