Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has been featured on the soundtrack of a new video ad for clothing giant Adidas, according to Citi FM reports.

The video which displays Adidas’ products has M.anifest and Kobi Onyame on its soundtrack.

In a post M.anifest made on Facebook, he stated that the soundtrack is a song on British-Ghanaian artiste Kobi Onyame’s upcoming album.

“New Adidas ad w/Kobi Onyame ft. M.anifest – #ChosenOnes. Get the song from Kobi’s ‘Gold’ album,” he wrote.

Adidas is a multinational corporation founded and headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, that designs and manufactures shoes, clothing and accessories.

M.anifest, born Kwame Ametepee Tsikata, is one of Ghana’s celebrated musicians who has been selling brand Ghana on international platforms.

The rapper is also a singer and songwriter. He was crowned the king of Ghana hip-hop in 2017 when he won best rapper and hip-hop song of the year at the Ghana Music Awards. He has worked with the likes of Damon Albarn, Flea, Tony Allen, Erykah Badu, and is featured on five songs on the ‘Rocket Juice’ and ‘The Moon’ album.

In 2012, BBC’s arts programme, The Strand, tipped him as one of four acts to look out for in 2012. In 2015, M.anifest’s single ‘Someway Bi’ earned him a third place honour in the International Songwriters Competition (ISC).

In the same year, The Guardian named M.anifest as “the foremost rapper on the continent”.

The Adidas deal adds to his international successes.
