Frank Hutchful
Frank Hutchful, who is popularly known as Oguaa Okoto, is hopeful of becoming the next Second Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region.
The campaign team of Mr Hutchful, in a press release, said supporters of the party have been yearning for the business magnate at the regional level in the ‘elephant’ family.
Mr Hutchful has been described as “a patriot, whose political leadership and experience, is unquestionable.”
The release said “the former Constituency Chairman of the Cape Coast Constituency and Vice Chairman of the Regional Finance Committee has been a game-changer in the region as a result of his immense contributions to the party in the region.”
It said, “Frank Hutchful, famously known as Oguaa Okoto, is a household name in the Central Region. He is a business mogul and a politician, whose political and leadership credentials in the Central Region date as far back as 1992. He has financed many constituency and regional political activities and served as the patron of many constituencies in the region.”
It said the Hutchland Hotel in Cape Coast has accommodated party functionaries on gratuity over the years.
“His band, Oguaaman International Band, has been used widely by the party for regional and national programmes also on gratuity, a tacit admission of his sacrifice and contribution to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region,” the release said.
“His vision is to ensure that every constituency in the region has its own land upon which a party office shall be built. The days of renting facilities for constituency offices shall be a thing of the past.”
“He has already commenced the buying of lands for 10 constituencies in the region, including Twifo Ati Mokwa, Assin Central, Ekumfi, KEEA, Upper Denkyira, Gomoa East, Hemang Lower Denkyira, Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa.
“He has also secured bags of cement to start construction in six constituencies, including Abura Asebu Kwamang, Gomoa West, Agona West, Gomoa Central, Assin North.”
He has further designed a prototype of the office complex and presented same to all 23 constituencies.
The building, the release said, shall have nine offices and a conference room, which would accommodate about 600 people.
“As an employer of over 500 people in the region, Oguaa Okoto has the blueprint for job creation. He is committed to liaising with appointees, CEOs, Board Chairmen, Ministers and MPs, who are from the region, in a bid to create employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youth in the region.”
