Police in the Eastern Region on Friday, 20 April 2018 gave some suspected armed robbers a hot chase leading to the arrest of two of the robbers.
The suspects are Asomani Bismarck, 28 and Abraham Darko, 27.
Suhum Police Commander Chief Supt Joseph Owusu confirmed the incident to Accra FM regional correspondent Kofi Michel.

Narrating the incident, Mr Owusu said the police received a tip off that some suspected persons were travelling from Suhum to Accra in a Toyota salon car with registration number GR 5509-10.
He said: “The patrol team mounted a snap check to check all cars but when they [robbers] got to the checkpoint, they reversed their car and sped off. We gave them a hot chase and shot the left tyre of their car.”
Mr Owusu further said while attempting to shoot at the left tyre, the bullet penetrated into the car and hit one robber in the leg. The rest of the robbers abandoned the car and bolted but one of them was arrested after another hot chase on foot.
The two arrested are in police custody but the injured is receiving treatment at the hospital.
Mr Owusu further noted that morale among his men is very high and they are prepared to work diligently to clamp down on robbers in Suhum and surrounding towns.
