CAF Prez Day Of Honour

The good works of Confederation of African Football (CAF) president, Ahmad Ahmad would receive due recognition by the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) today.

The expected colourful event at the campus of UPSA will see the higher learning body, confer an Honorary Doctorate degree on the CAF chief for his exemplary leadership qualities.

According to a letter signed by Isaac Addo, GFA General Secretary, the conferment is in recognition of Ahmad Ahmad’s selflessness, foresight, wisdom, integrity and panache with which he has so far steered the affairs of the African Football Confederation to the admiration of Africa and the World at large.

Meanwhile, the CAF boss yesterday paid a courtesy call on Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at Manhyia.

The CAF boss extolled Liverpool star Mohammed Salah saying, “I think that if Liverpool wins the champions league, I think he will be among the top three players in the world [Ballon d’Or shortlist.]”.

“Performances for national teams and clubs are important in selecting the best player in the world.

“So if he has a good world cup or wins the champions league with Liverpool, then why not? Because, honestly, I think he is the best [player] now.

Ahmad Ahmad was accompanied by Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi , GFA president and CAF 1st vice president, Anthony Baffour, CAF Deputy General Secretary in-charge of Football and Development), Sannie Daraah ,GFA communication director, Alhaji MND Jawula, Osei Tutu Agyemang -Kotoro, Ashanti Regional FA chairman, Opoku Nti (EXCO member) and Dr. Kwame Kyei, Kotoko C.E.O.
