Nana Efua Authors ‘My Love Is Black’

It takes extra effort to combine corporate life and academics, but Nana Efua Rockson, Head of Corporate Affairs & Marketing of the GLICO Group, has succeeded in achieving that feat.

In spite of her busy schedule of managing six subsidiary companies of the GLICO Group, she has put together a poetry book – a compilation of 13 love poems.

In the book ‘Tebi’s Book Of Love Songs’, the poet captures love in different shades in 13 poems.

To her, 13 represents love; and love is a four letter word – one plus three- equals four, hence her decision to settle on 13 poems.

“For me, I think love is beautiful. In the book, I have expressed love in 13 shades; thirteen is an odd number, just like love-sometimes it is sweet, another time sour. Makes you excited at one point, the next moment you are down,” she highlighted.

Out of the 13 love classics, she singles out ‘The Colour Of Love’, one of the poems in the book, as her favourite.

“My love is black, because to me love is black; it is deep and intense. Something you can see but hidden; it can only be black. Love is black because it is deep,” Nana Efua revealed.

Drawing so much inspiration from ace poet, Professor Attuquaye Okine, who will be launching the book on the theme ‘The Colour of Love’ (‘Tebi’s Book Of Love Songs’) tomorrow at the PAWA House, near Accra Girls’ Senior House, the writer has charged all and sundry to esteem love because it relaxes.
