Briefing journalists in Tema yesterday, the Tema Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nana Hinneh Asomah, said the suspects use the illicit drugs to carry out criminal operations.
According to him, the swoop would be conducted regularly in the various police divisions, districts and metropolis to rid the area of criminals.
“The message we are sending is that we have identified all the places these criminals are hiding, and we are not going to spare them but arrest them to face the full rigors of the law.
“The suspects are being screened after which those found culpable would be charged and arraigned before court,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the police have stated that the dried leaves suspected to be cannabis have been forwarded to the Police Forensic Laboratory for examination.
