American singer Janet Jackson gave a thrilling comeback performance at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards which celebrated some of music’s biggest names on Sunday night.

The performance at the awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas was her first TV performance in nine years.

The five-minute performance saw Janet Jackson do a mash-up of some of her hits. The singer, who is also a dancer, did a couple of well-rehearsed dance moves on stage but what will stand out for Ghanaians is the ‘Akwaaba’ dance move. The dance, which has gone viral globally, is for the song ‘Akwaaba’ (Welcome), produced by Guilty Beatz. The song features Mr Eazi, Pappy Kojo, and Patapaa.

“I woke up to dms from my Fans!! Telling me @janetjackson had done the #Akwaaba on the Billboard Stage!!! OMG!!!!!!!! Surely a Great week Ahead! 2 New Songs out on Wednesday #Godwave,” Mr Eazi said when he shared a video of the performance on Instagram.
