UNILEVER GHANA picked the Manufacturing Company of the Year Award for 2017 at the Ghana Manufacturing Awards 2018 held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra on Thursday evening.

CEO of B5 Plus Limited, Mukesh Thakwani, won the Entrepreneur of the year, while CEO of the year went to Dr. Tony Oteng Gyasi of Tropical Cable Limited.

Brand of the year went to Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, while the Excellence in Health, Safety, Environment   and Quality (HSEQ) went to Tropical Cable and Conductors Limited.

Under the Honorary awards, Ghandour Cosmetics emerged Cosmetics Manufacturing Company of the year; Hair (Synthetic) Manufacturing Company of the year Went To Weave Ghana Limited, while Ceramics Product Manufacturing Company of the year went to Keda Ceramics Limited.

Under Special Recognition awards, Intelligent Card Production Systems Ghana (ICPS) won the Excellence in Technology award, as the Young Manufacturer award went to Richard Adjei, CEO of Kasapreko Company Limited.

Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong of Special Ice Company Limited won the Leadership and Strategy award with the Woman of Excellence award going to Constance Swaniker, CEO of Accents and Arts Limited.

Tropical Cable and Conductors Limited also emerged Electrical Cable Manufacturing Company of the year, with Cosmo Seafoods Limited winning the Cannery Manufacturing Company of the year.

B5 Plus Company Limited picked the Steel Manufacturing Company of the year as Intelligent Card Production Systems Ghana (ICPS) also received the Plastics Manufacturing Company of the year (secure and intelligent plastics).

Joy Industries Limited was adjudged the Beverage Manufacturing Company of the year (herbal liquor) as Interplast Limited won Plastic Manufacturing Company of the year (industrial).

Azar Chemical Industries Limited was Chemical Manufacturing Company of the year, while Unipak Ghana Limited won Pharmaceutical Packaging Company of the year.

Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited picked both the Beverage Manufacturing Company of the year (alcoholic) and local content award, while The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited lifting both the Beverage Manufacturing Company of the year (non-alcoholic) and Bottling Company of the year awards.

Blowchem Industries Limited won the Plastics Manufacturing Company of the year (pets/preforms), while Kane-Em Industries Limited picked the Plastics Manufacturing Company of the year (rubber category). Packaging Matrixx Limited emerged Promising Manufacturing Company of the year as Blowchem Industries Limited-Bel Aqua won the Water Producing Company of the year.

Kasapreko Company Limited – Storm Energy Drink won Marketing Campaign of the year; Kane-Em Industries Limited – Packaging Product Manufacturing Company of the year; Daily Foods Company Limited – emerging Brand of the year; Royal Crown Packaging Company Limited – Best Growing Manufacturing Company of the year; Kasapreko Company Limited – Export Manufacturing Company of the year; Azar Chemical Industries Limited – Paint Manufacturing Company of the year; Mchammah Engineering –  Fabrications Company of the year; and Inesfly Africa Limited – Manufacturing Innovations award.

Deputy Minister of Trade, Robert Ahomka Lindsay, congratulated all the award winners and urged them to work hard to help grow the country’s GDP.
