Dr Emmanuel Srofenyoh conducting Ishmael Ashitey around one of the wards
Dr Emmanuel Srofenyoh, Ag. Medical Director of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, has announced measures to deal with the influx of referrals to the 420-bed facility since it became operational in 2017.
He opined that management has introduced strategies like the introduction of the corporate prestige services and promotion of medical tourism as ways of creating opportunities for expedited services.
Briefing the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey, during a working visit to the hospital, Dr Srofenyoh indicated that they are up to the task to serve patients.
“The influx of referred cases, including deliveries, are increasing however management has set itself to emerge as the nation’s medical facility of excellence,” he mentioned.
At the end of the tour, Mr Ashitey assured management of his preparedness to collaborate in helping to solve the staff accommodation challenges.
He reiterated the need for a very high maintenance culture for both the building and equipment.
“We believe that your example in sound medical service delivery, maintenance culture and motivation of personnel among others will serve as best medical practice for others to emulate,” he lauded.
