Ohemaa Mercy
The management of Ohemaa Mercy has denied allegations that some gospel artistes who were paid to perform at the ‘Tehillah Experience’ a year ago failed to show up for the concert.
According to earlier reports, some of the artistes who were announced ahead of the show were conspicuously missing in action. It was rather a different line up of artistes who performed at the event.
However, reacting to the claims at a press conference to announce this year’s concert, Ohemaa’s husband and manager, Twum Ampofo, said it was not true.
He stated that all the artistes on the bill performed at the concert with the exception of Cecilia Marfo.
Mr Ampofo revealed that she didn’t perform because she had lost her mother ahead of the concert and as a result, management decided to take her off the bill.
“Last year every artiste we placed on the bill came. Anita Afriyie and few others were surprises. We mentioned Cecilia Marfo at the press conference but unfortunately she lost her mother. So we took her off all publicity materials,” he disclosed.
The ‘Tehillah Experience’ is an annual gospel concert organised to provide the platform for Christians to have a fulfilled praise and worship time with their Creator.
This year’s event will take place on Sunday, August 12 at the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Calvary Temple, Spintex road in Accra.
Dubbed ‘His Name Is Jesus’, the event has Juanita Bynum, an American celebrated gospel artiste,as a guest artiste. There will also be performances from Moses OK, Elder Mireku, Ceccy Twum, Oware Junior, Cwesi Oteng, Akese Brempong and a host of others aside Ohemaa Mercy, the headline artiste of the concert.
