Daniel Yeboah, aka Kuntu Blankson
A renowned and veteran Ghanaian actor, Daniel Yeboah, popularly called Kuntu Blankson, has died under some bizarre circumstances.
He was found hanging on a rope at the kitchen of his own residence at Brafouwa in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region yesterday.
The 63-year-old actor left behind a wife and four children.
The late Kuntu Blankson was a member of the Adehye Drama Group based in the Central Region and featured in many Akan Drama series on television.
His death comes as a big blow to the entertainment industry and particularly listeners of a private radio station in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, Goodnews FM, where he was featuring in a weekly radio drama series.
BEATWAVES learnt that the entire Cape Coast township, the Central regional capital, was thrown into a state of shock when the sad news of the demise of veteran actor Kuntu Blankson broke out.
The former laboratory technician with the University of Cape Coast Hospital, according to sources, woke up at dawn and allegedly committed the act.
According to BEATWAVES’s sources, when the deceased woke up in the morning, his family members thought that he was embarking on his usual morning jogging only for them to find him hanging on the rope wearing the track suit he wears for jogging.
The family revealed how shocked they were about the development as the deceased neither complained of any problem nor showed signs of worry.
Madam Grace Yeboah, the wife of the deceased, told journalists that the husband did not show any sign worry.
Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) were at the scene to commence investigations.
The lifeless body of the deceased had since been conveyed to the morgue for autopsy.
