Cardi B Charged With Assault

Cardi B has been charged with one count of assault and two counts of reckless endangerment, all misdemeanors, following an alleged incident at a Queens strip club in August, per The New York Times.

She received a summons for her misdemeanors and turned herself in to the N.Y.P.D. Flushing precinct on Monday morning. After being charged, she will have to appear in court on October 29.

She walked out of the precinct looking completely unbothered, smiling, waving at cameras while in full business-casual khaki and white heels. Her short platinum-blonde hair pulled the whole look together.

This alleged incident goes all the way back to August 15, when two sisters, bartenders at Angels Strip Club in Queens, were attacked with bottles and chairs, police said. Cardi had reportedly accused one of the women of having an affair with her husband, rapper Offset.

According to The New York Times, Cardi was not involved in the attack, but police said several members of her group were behind the actions.

“Apparently, she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law since she has bragged to multiple people and on social media that she orchestrated these vicious attacks. But reality is setting in,” Joseph Tacopina, a lawyer for the bartenders, told The Times in an e-mail.

Cardi’s representatives said they were not aware of her involvement, “We are aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm from that night,” her lawyer, Jeff Kern, told The Associated Press. “We expect the matter to be resolved expeditiously.”

This report follows a New York Fashion Week incident during which Cardi B threw a shoe at Nicki Minaj. That altercation has, so far, not landed anyone in court.
