President Akufo-Addo has appealed to Ghanaians to keep faith with him to deliver on his promises.

Speaking at the thanksgiving service held by the Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church to mark its 180th anniversary in Accra, President Akufo-Addo stated that “even though life is still not as easy as it should be, I am confident of a better and brighter tomorrow.

He quoted Jeremiah 12:2 which says “you have planted them, and they have taken root; they grow and bear fruit’ to buttress his point.

The year-long celebration was under the theme, “180 years of Methodism in Accra — Intensifying Our Teaching Ministry Towards Discipline Making.”

The president, who was in the company of his wife, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, a Methodist, said although the achievements chalked by his administration in the last 22 months are modest, they have been visible.

He cited the reduction in electricity and water tariffs, implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS), as well as effective management of the country’s financial resources as some of his achievements so far.

President Akufo-Addo reiterated his commitment to fulfilling all his promises to Ghanaians and urged them to keep faith with him.

He said he would build a Ghana beyond aid to discard the mentality of dependence on aid.

President Akufo-Addo revealed that with the help of Church, his vision would be attained.
