Fist Of Fury III Hands Commey Crown

Experienced boxer, Raymond Commey left the Bukom Boxing Arena as the new National Featherweight champion; defeating Isaac ‘Kalusha’ Nettey on Fight Night 3 of the Bukom Fist of Fury.

Three officials scored 118 – 111, 117 – 113 and 117 – 111 all in favour of Commey to win by a majority decision.

The new champion, having lost two important bouts this year, danced to the victory and later dared Wasiru Mohammed  for a rematch.

Few months ago, Wasiru Mohammed knocked him to grab the national super bantamweight title, and went on the beat Isaac Sackey for the WBO Africa title.

Sackey beat Commey on points to win the WBO Africa title, but lost it to Wasiru Mohammed after a controversial fight score by a referee from Benin.

Other bouts saw John Laryea winning on points over tough Nigerian opponent Amadu, while George ‘Red Tiger’ Ashie and Korle Collison thrilled the fans with an exhibition bout.

Felix Ajom popularly referred to as Alvaro beat Ben ‘Congo Soldier’ Ankrah in another thriller.

Twelve amateur fights were held on Friday night and most ended in knock outs.

National team Coach, Ofori Asare praised the organizers of the league for keeping the boxers on their toes.

He commended  the deputy Minister of Youth & Sports, Perry Okudzeto for staying on to watch the last fight which he described as an encouragement to both boxers and spectators.

Up and coming artist, Papilon Blood entertained the fans with some of his collections.

Consultant to the Bukom Fist of Fury, Moses Foh Amoaning, commended Metro Mass Transit for providing three buses to convey boxing fans from some locations in Accra, and sending them back for free.

The Bukom Fist of Fury Boxing League is being sponsored by GNPC, ADB, TSEL, ddp and  GTV Sports Plus.
