Actress Lydia Forson and Pearl Nyarko-Mensah (Miss Malaika 2017) have paid glowing tribute to MTN Ghana for setting up the MTN Ghana Foundation as its charity outlet to provide succor to vulnerable members of the society.
Speaking to NEWS-ONE shortly after the launch of MTN Heroes of Change Season V at the MTN House in Accra on Wednesday, they indicated that the foundation since its inception has searched the length and breadth of the country to reward individuals or teams whose works have benefitted a number of people in the areas of health, economic empowerment and education.
The MTN Heroes of Change, according to the CEO of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, is a transformational initiative to bring the works of people in the areas of education, health and entrepreneurial skills developments who are impacting society positively.
“Thousands of selfless people are doing amazing things in communities across Ghana. The MTN Heroes of Change seeks to unearth and celebrate these selfless people,” he said.
“It must not take much to emerge a hero, the little things one does and which end up making an impact or bringing about transformation in the lives of other people means a lot,” Mr. Adadevoh indicated.
The MTN Heroes of Change seeks to reward individuals who have touched lives and contributed to the improved well-being of the less privileged in society.
The Season V will focus on core areas such as health, economic empowerment, and education, with the ultimate winner receiving a whopping GH¢100,000, while category winners would receive GH¢30,000.
Special category winners will also receive GH¢10,000 each.
Nominations for Season V of the awards are currently opened with January 18, 2019 being the set deadline for receiving nominations while the main awards ceremony night is billed for June 14, 2019.
