Hannah Gyarbin
DESPITE CLAIMS that local Twi movies are the most patronized in Ghana’s movie market and as a result, actors in these movies are making a fortune, a young Ghanaian actress, Hannah Gyarbin (Now known as Mrs Hannah Agbesi), does not quite agree with this perception.
The actress, in an exclusive interview said the hullabaloo about local movies selling is not reflective in the lifestyle and pockets of her and some of her colleagues in the acting business.
Hannah Agbesi, who has been acting in such local movies for the past five years, thus bemoaned how some of them are struggling to earn a living in the movie industry.
“Even though the industry is growing, acting in Ghana is not a thing to depend on for a living. Honestly, looking at how things are moving up and down, it is not the best. I am not saying our movie industry is not good. It is developing. New things are coming up. Now and then we are seeing new faces. Our movies are getting better by the day but honestly, to me, it is not something you can depend on”, she stressed.
She however described her stay in the local movie industry as one devoid of sexual experiences. She said though there were claims of producers engaging young actresses in sex bouts in exchange for movie roles, she has personally not been confronted with such a situation.
According to Hannah, no producer has attempted to get her into bed before a role.
