The body of the deceased
Yaw Takyi, a 64-year-old security man at the Excel Petrol Filling Station at Chiraa in the Brong Ahafo Region was on Friday shot and killed by armed robbers at about 4:30 am.
Brong Ahafo Regional Police Spokesman, Chief Inspector Augustine Kinsley Oppong, told DAILY GUIDE in an interview that the body has since been deposited at the morgue of the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani while police continue investigations to arrest the culprits.
Yaw Takyi, until his death, was an employee of a private security company, Black Hawk Security and was stationed at the filling station.
The owner of the fuel station, Kingsford Amoh, told the Chiraa Police that he found the deceased in a pool of blood at 4:30 am.
“The gunmen shot him in the head and his double barrel registered gun with BB cartridges was found beside him.”
He told the police that the armed robbers made away with an unspecified amount of money during the operation.
The police followed the complainant to the scene and found the body in supine position.
Residents claimed the deceased struggled with the armed robbers at the filling station before his demise.
