Youth and Sports Minister, lsaac Asiamah has commended Benjamin Ngoswini, contractor for the multipurpose sports centre of excellence for demonstrating brilliance.
The contractor and his team have so far erected the four spectators’ stands and have promised to complete the project this April.
The Minister told the media after inspecting the Navrongo facility yesterday that “The contractor is on point, so far, the contractor has impressed me with his quality of work.”
“We want the facility to stand the test of time; generations unborn should benefit from this facility. Sports and the youth are two of government’s topmost priorities, hence this facility; we will do more, this is just the beginning of the many things government has for the youth and sports.”
The Navrongo facility, one of the ten centres dotted across the country will have a FIFA standard football field, tartan tracks, volleyball/basketball Courts, ICT/Counselling Centres and a restaurant.
The Minister and Emmanuel Asigri, National Youth Authority (NYA) chief have inspected eight centres-Volta, Eastern, Central, Ashanti, Western Brong Ahafo Regions as well as Wa and Navrongo respectively.
The Kaneshie and Yendi centres are due for inspection in the coming weeks.
