The three suspects
Large quantities of substances suspected to be Indian Hemp have been seized at New Edubiase and Kyeraboroso by the Fomena District Command of the Ashanti Region.
The 197 parcels of wee were seized from three women, whose names were given as Georgina Asare, aka Madam, 30, Doris Asare, 27, and Akosua Nyankomago, 50.
Nyankomago, who was first picked up by the police, led them to the house of Madam at New Edubiase where the huge quantity of the substance was discovered.
Fomena District Police Commander, Supt Fii Ochil said Nyankomago was arrested with 143 wrappers of the substance suspected to be Indian Hemp at Kyereboroso in the Adansi Asokwa District upon a tipoff.
According to the police chief, the three women have since been detained to assist in investigations.
He narrated that the substances were allegedly concealed in a store room of the suspects.
Supt Ochil said the cooperation by some people helped the police to seize the substances and combat the use of narcotics.
