Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah
Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder and leader of the Glorious Word Ministry International, has honoured an invitation by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in connection with an audio recording that allegedly captures the fiery preacher saying that ex-President John Mahama is plotting to eliminate him, President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Bawumia and Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
He arrived at the premises of the CID on Wednesday around 3pm in the company of some of his junior pastors.
Reverend Owusu Bempah was supposed to report on Monday, March 20, 2019, but according to his aide, Reverend Nana Kwesi, the man of God was on pastoral duties outside Accra and could therefore not honour the invitation on that day.
A police source told DAILY GUIDE that the preacher, who was ‘verbally’ invited by the Director-General of CID, met the team of investigators.
After he was asked a number of questions, he was discharged without giving any written statement, the source narrated.
According to the source, the investigators told the reverend that they would get back to him in due course.
Rev Owusu Bempah, the source said, promised to fully cooperate with the police in the matter.
The CID said it has the said audio recording in its possession.
It’s unclear who lodged the complaint, but sources claimed Kofi Adams, a former National Organizer of the opposition NDC, made the report.
