TELECOMMUNICATION GIANTS, MTN Ghana, as part of its ‘Yellow Care’ programme, has held a one-day summit for participants of the Young CEOs Campaign.
The summit is aimed at educating the CEOs on the immense benefits of digital marketing and how they can use it to expand their business base.
Senior Manager of MTN Ghana Foundation, Robert Kuzoe, said, “We chose this initiative so we could bring them (the Young CEOs) on board, educate them on digital marketing – how they can package their products; how they can expand their business base; how they can also engage clients and get feedback so that they can expand their businesses and make impacts in their societies.”
Following the summit, each young CEO would be placed under the senior leadership of the business.
They would have the opportunity to engage all the CEOs, General Managers and Senior Managers of MTN Ghana who would share their experiences with them and help them go through whatever challenges they may be facing.
He revealed that the participants numbering about 50 cut across various entrepreneurial disciplines.
Digital Consultant, MTN Ghana, Dario Bianchi, stated that with over five million customers on Facebook, MTN Ghana is able to interact with its customers just with a single post, thereby urging them to take full advantage of digital marketing and social media.
“So with one single post, you can talk to all these customers. That is why digital marketing can be a really effective and cheap way for you to talk to your customers and promote your products,” he said.
He counseled that even without any product participants can still make posts which would attract hundreds of potential customers.
He said this “can give you an idea whether your product has a future in the market or maybe not.”
On getting the right audience and feedback, Dario Bianchi stressed that unlike five-ten years ago, participants using digital marketing would have to be careful, patient and willing to dedicate time adding that, “and you need to really have the right insight into how you communicate and position your product” because digital marketing changes every day.
