John Dumelo has fired back at recent trolls by ex-British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, over his V8 Land Cruiser scandal.
He described as “expensive joke” tweets by the UK politician to remind Ghanaians about what many have come to accept as a ‘low blow’ to his young political career.
The ‘Baby Thief’ actor was previously accused of illegally keeping the pricey V8 Land Cruiser, which National Security operatives said belongs to the government.
Since the interception, the vehicle has been in the custody of the National Security without any action from the actor to get it back.
After John Dumelo was elected as the parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (Ayawaso West Wuogon), Jon Benjamin was one of the first people to take to social media to congratulate him.
However, his congratulatory message didn’t come without the mention of V8.
“@johndumelo1 – ayekooo paaaa for your nomination, the first step on a long political journey to becoming Ghana’s President – sometime around the year 20V8,” Jon Benjamin said.
In an interview with Abusua FM, John Dumelo registered his displeasure with Jon Benjamin for always making noise about the V8 scandal.
“Jon Benjamin is my friend and his tweets about me are jokes. Though I’m not bothered but I have told him to cut such jokes because they are too expensive,” he said.
“He is my friend. Anytime I go to London, we meet and have a lot of discussion about Ghana and the world at large,” he also added.
