A vast land at Ebom-Bomfa, where the chief was wrongly accused of demolition houses
NANA KWAKU Twumasi, the Chief of Ebom-Bomfa in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, has flatly denied demolishing houses in the area.
According to him, the wild allegation is a calculated attempt by his detractors to dent his reputation. He, therefore, urged the public to treat media reports about the subject with contempt.
False Allegations
Some developers at Ebom-Bomfa have accused Nana Twumasi of illegally pulling down some houses under construction in the area. The so-called affected house owners also alleged that the traditional leader was using some land guards to torment the people illegally.
Journalists Tour
Nana Twumasi, who claimed to be innocent, invited some journalists to tour the town to verify the situation. During the tour, which lasted for about two hours, there was not a single house that had been demolished in the area contrary to the allegations.
Significantly, during the tour, the journalists rather realised that the chief had liaised with the district assembly to secure approved layout to demarcate the lands for development.
Chief’s Remarks
Nana Kwame Acheampong, who spoke on behalf of the Ebom-Bomfa chief, said Nana Twumasi is a peaceful and development-oriented traditional leader.
He stated that it was never true that Nana Twumasi was illegally snatching people’s lands and ordering land guards to demolish some structures.
The Assemblyman for the area, Emmanuel Kwame Kwaw, said the chief had helped to construct toilet facilities, supported schools and properly demarcated lands in the town.
