Actor Lilwin has called on his colleagues in the movies industry to come together and work as a team to revive the Kumawood movie industry.
The industry has been on a decline in recent times, with many actors resorting to doing short videos on YouTube to generate some income to cater for themselves.
Lilwin said even though Ghanaian movie producers are still doing well for themselves, they should continue to learn from some good producers around the globe.
“I don’t think Kumawood is dead as being purported by many. We are going through serious challenges but in due to time I would lead the battle to make Kumawood vibrant again,” Lilwin stated.
He urged the stakeholders to put in place measures to streamline the operation of the industry since it has a bright future.
“There is no doubt about the technological changes in the movie industry around the world and we have to undergo that transition to make Kumawood competitive again,” he said.
Lilwin, however, announced that his latest movie titled ‘Borga Awaaba’, which was released on Wezzy Films, would soon be available on Wezzy Empire YouTube channel.
Lilwin, who doubles as a musician, has won numerous awards over the past few years in his illustrious career, coupled with his humanitarian advocacy, especially having built a school complex in Offinso-Ahenkro in the Ashanti Region.
