INHABITANTS OF Ahwiam Tsebi, a suburb of Ningo in the Ningo-Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region, are yet to come to terms with disturbing news of the death of a 60-year-old man, Agba Teye Adjer, aka Kwaley Majee.
The late Teye Adjer, a fisherman, is said to have been butchered by three suspects — two males and a female — who are currently at large.
His body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicates that the deceased allegedly went to knock on the door of one of the neighbours at midnight in search of his wife.
Teye Adjer reportedly insisted on seeing the other man’s wife at that ungodly hour and that enraged the husband who asked him to go away.
In the ensuing heat, there was a scuffle and Teye Adjer was slashed with a machete by the man’s wife.
Another version was that when Teye Adjer was coming to the neighbour’s house, he was already armed with the machete and in the process he was pushed down by the man’s husband who picked up the machete and attacked him in self-defence.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Issa Kantona, the Prampram District Police Commander, confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE and said they received the report in the early hours of Monday.
He said when the police arrived at the scene, Teye Adjer was lying on the floor motionless covered with leaves.
He said the police detected deep machete wounds on the body of Teye Adjer and added that three suspects who are currently at large have been identified as the suspects behind the heinous crime.
Superintendent Issa Kantona, however, assured the family of the deceased that the police had already initiated investigations into the case and would do their best to arrest the suspects.
