Salem Yunus
Sulley Fuseini, leader of Safety Empire, a gay-bashing gang based at Nima in Accra, has declared war on gays in the country, amidst concerns that their activities are flouting some basic human rights laws.
Fuseini, also known as Achidundu, made the declaration after the lynching of an unknown young man who was suspected to be a homosexual.
Eyewitnesses told DAILY GUIDE that the young man had visited his friend, Salem Yunus, who had long been suspected to be gay; and the pair might have been engaged in some romantic activities behind closed doors.
It was not known how Safety Empire got wind of what was going on, but they trooped to the house of Salem in their numbers at the time and subjected the couple to severe beatings, with the stranger taking the better part.
Salem, it was gathered, managed to escape, but his visitor was not so lucky, as he was beaten to death.
“As I have always said, these animals (homosexuals) have no place in this country. It is against the laws of Ghana to engage in homosexuality; and so if the police will not act, we will do what is necessary to protect our country from this filth. Safety Empire hereby declares Jihad on all gays in the country,” Achidundu said boldly, when DAILY GUIDE contacted him.
It was learnt that the body of the young man who was lynched, has been deposited at the Police Hospital by leaders of the community.
