Tamale-based rapper Maccasio, born Sherif Abdul Majeed, is back with a new album to further stamp his authority on the music scene as one of the best.
Titled ‘Zero 2 Hero’, it is his fourth studio album and it was launched with a huge concert at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Tamale on January 4, 2020.
Maccasio is described as one of the best rappers to come from northern Ghana.
He has consistently delivered alluring, compelling and sizzling rap flow for that past five years, making him stand out among his peers.
His new album contains 14 songs and features top rappers such as Medikal and Guru.
He kicked off the launch of the album with a football gala among the youth of Tamale on Friday, January 3 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
The gala had a huge representation from ‘69 Fans’, which is the official fan army behind rapper Maccasio.
During the early part of Saturday, January 4, the ‘69 Fans’ and admirers of the rapper rallied behind him to organise a huge health walk in anticipation of the album launch and to participate in a physical activity.
The participants also joined other thousands of fans at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium that night to watch the ‘Dagomba Girl’ hitmaker perform songs on the album.
Before Maccasio’s grand entry, there were performances from top Tamale stars such as Don Sigli, Fadlan, Wizchild, Sapashini, Gaffachi, Choggu Boys, Flawa, Teflon Flex, Ras Tony and Wumbee, among others.
Maccasio took over the stage at 2:00am to showcase his true and unadulterated talent to the crowd.
He put up a performance which received a thunderous applause from the audience.
From ‘Money’ to ‘Rap King Kong’, Maccasio effortlessly drove everyone crazy before closing his electrifying performance with the song titled ‘Zero 2 Hero’.
