The mangled car
THE NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase, Mohammed Mubarick Muntaka, has miraculously escaped unhurt in a dangerous crash.
The road accident occurred at Kubease near Konongo when the MP’s vehicle suddenly veered off the road into a nearby bush on Saturday morning.
It is alleged that a certain vehicle, without giving any signal to other drivers and road users, suddenly made a sharp U-turn on the busy road in a frightening manner around 9 am.
Sensing danger, the MP’s driver directed the vehicle into a nearby bush in the Kumasi direction. The bold action by the driver was said to have helped to prevent a head-on collision.
People in the area then rushed into the bush to rescue the occupants of the mangled vehicle and were surprised to see the Asawase NDC MP among the passengers.
Reports making rounds indicated that Ahmed Banda, the NDC MP for Banda, was also in the vehicle. The two lawmakers were said to have surprisingly escaped unhurt.
Conflicting reports making rounds indicated that the two MPs were from Accra to Sunyani for a funeral service. Others also said they were on their way to Kumasi for an event.
Even though the MPs did not suffer any physical injuries, they were still rushed to the hospital as precautionary measures, sources informed DAILY GUIDE.
According to reports, the police in the area have towed away the damaged vehicle and investigations into the near-gory accident are ongoing.
