Members of Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association have registered their names in the record of donors to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund.
The fund was set up by President Akufo-Addo to collect and manage contributions to help fight the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) which is decimating many economies around the world.
At a ceremony at the Jubilee House on Monday, the co-chairman of the association, Clement Boateng, gave an amount of GH¢50,000 as their contribution to government’s efforts at curbing the pandemic.
Prior to that was a donation of GH¢20,000 by the Association of Customs House Agents Ghana whose President, Yaw Kyei, and David Serebuor, an Executive Member, and Henrietta Oppong, their Executive Secretary, also gave an amount of GH¢20,000.
That was followed by other donations from the Diaspora Patriots of Ghana whose Chairman, Prince Ofosu Sefah, presented an amount of GH¢20,000 and another GH¢50,000 from the Ghana Association of Savings and Loans Companies, whose Executive Secretary, Tweneboah Kodua Boakye, gave GH¢50,000 to the fund.
Then came the biggest for the day, which was an amount of GH¢800,000 from the China International Water and Electric Corporation. The presentation was done by its Project Manager, Du Honglai, and a GH¢10,000 donation from Pacific Solutions & Services and Pacific Tours whose Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kwesi Eyison, did the presentation.
