The make-up and beauty industry has now become one of the most sought-after industries in recent times, and it keeps expanding each year because more and more people have been developing their passion to work in that sector.
Over the weekend, 28 beauty students who have completed six to 12 months courses in make-up artistry, hair styling, nails and skincare at the Lia’s Beauty Academy in Accra successfully graduated.
The graduation ceremony was held at the AMA premises, adjacent the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra on Saturday, and it was attended by some of the big names in Ghana’s showbiz and make-up industry.
Among them were actress Roselyn Ngissah and gospel singer Lady Prempeh, who entertained guests with performances from some of her popular songs. There were also cultural performances by Sankofa Kete Group. There were other activities, including a runway modelling activity to spice up the occasion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Roselyn Ngissah congratulated the graduands and tasked them to make a difference as professionals by making use of the knowledge they have acquired from Lia’s Beauty Academy.
She advised them to support one another, highlighting that “we are going to pick the best five of you and promote you for free on my page on Instagram.”
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lia’s Beauty Academy, Ms. Sheila Adutwum, revealed that the school started with three students five years ago but now has over 60 graduates who are doing very well on the field.
She urged the graduands to rise above the challenges that would confront them on the field.
Lia’s Beauty Academy offers students an opportunity to train in rewarding and demanding programmes. The school is committed to preparing aestheticians who are skilled in their craft and committed to professional client care. Founded in 2015, it is one of the best schools now, and it is located at Dansoman (Asoredanho) in Accra.
