Prince Adu Kwabena
Premiership side, Bechem United FC, is carving a niche for itself as a powerhouse of quality strikers by the years.
Since joining Ghana’s elite league, close to a decade ago, they have proven to be the real hub for brilliant strikers.
Fine forwards like Richard Addai, Augustine Okrah, Abednego Tetteh, Hafiz Konkoni, Prince Adu Kwabena and counting have not only established themselves on the local scene as quality attackers, but internationally as well.
Their exploits attracted foreign suitors and they have acted as worthy ambassadors since leaving the shores of Ghana.
The 2015/16 FA Cup champions current most prized asset (striker), Prince Adu Kwabena, emerged on the list of 2020 Guardian’s Next Generation 60 of the best young talents in world football.
And in the 14 matches he featured for Bechem United, nicknamed ‘The Hunters’, in the truncated league, the striker hit the back of the net eight times.
That places him in a category as one of the finest attackers in the country at the moment.
Indeed, that stirred technical handlers of the Black Stars to hand the 17-year-old a late national team invitation for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) double qualifier against Sudan.
In September 2011, the Bechem-based side were crowned champions of the Poly Tank Division One League, Zone 1 and promoted to the 2011–12 season of the country’s top flight league.
The club plays its home games from the 5,000 capacity Nana Gyeabour’s Park, and has Kingsley Owusu-Achau as president supported by Kignsley Osei Bonsu and Nana Kwasi Darlyn as CEO and chairman respectively.
