Sammi Awuku
THE National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, has asked the people of Western Region to support the re-election bid of President Akufo-Addo since he is the only trustworthy candidate in this year’s election who is capable of doing good to the country.
He said President Akufo-Addo had consistently demonstrated “good character, competence and commitment” to the work of the nation; asserting that Ghanaian parents now have their peace of mind without wondering whether their children will go to secondary school.
Addressing NPP supporters in the Amenfi East Constituency as part of his tour in the Western Region, Mr. Awuku said the Free Senior High School education policy had relieved Ghanaians of the financial burden, beside the free water and electricity they enjoy, courtesy President Akufo-Addo policies.
He also visited Wassa East, Shama, Mpohor, Kwesimintim, Jomoro, Ellembelle, Evalue, Ajomoro, Gwira, Prestea, Huni Valley and Amenfi West.
“Our brothers and sisters in nursing and teacher trainee schools are receiving their allowances and cocoa farmers now have access to farm inputs such as fertilizers. The Planting for Food and Jobs programme has also increased yield and food security.”
“All these have come about as a result of good governance by the NPP government led by Nana Akufo-Addo and the votes you cast four years ago,” the NPP Organiser said.
“As a voter, you help decide who will lead this country through voting. You are aware of the good works of Akufo-Addo. He has made good arrangements for the establishment of an oil hub in the Western Region, beginning from next year. Parliament has approved of the deal and it will create 780,000 jobs in this region alone,” he said, adding “If we don’t want this then what else do we want?”
The NPP National Organiser continued that the government was working to ensure that small-scale mining took its rightful place, intimating that it was against this backdrop that the government sent people to the University of Mines and Energy to be trained on how to do proper mining.
He cautioned the electorate against opposition NDC propaganda spearheaded by former President John Mahama who is staging a comeback after his heavy defeat in 2016; and said they would reverse the gains made so far if they were given the chance.
“It is four more years for Akufo-Addo. God has already made it. He is number one on the ballot; vote for him and for all NPP parliamentary candidates. Don’t be deceived!” he said.
