Voters at the Changli Market Square in the Tamale Central Constituency have expressed fear over the lack of security at the polling station.
They are worried due to the tension related to the Changli area which is known to have vigilante groups like the Aluta boys.
One voter, Samariya Issah, appealed to the Electoral Commission and the Northern Regional Police Command to deploy a police officer to the Changli Market Square polling station.
“It’s early days and we don’t know what can happen here now till afternoon so security is very important for us”, he told DGN Online’s Eric Kombat who is reporting from the constituency.
The Tamale Central Constituency has a voter population of 87,206, with 168 polling stations.
Dr. Ibrahim Anyars of the NPP, Mohammed Murtala of the NDC and Abdul Karim Mubarak of the PNC are contesting the Tamale Central Constituency seat.
