The Evalue-Ajomo-Gwira Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the party leadership to as a matter of urgency crack the whip on some purported traitors in the NPP who allegedly masterminded the defeat of the party in the constituency.
The party executives have alleged that the purported traitors are currently lobbying for political appointments at the Jubilee House.
The executives have also called on the party’s national campaign manager, Peter Mac Manu, and his team to visit the constituency to do their investigations before pencilling anyone for political appointments.
Addressing the media, James Kainyah, Deputy Constituency Secretary of the NPP in the constituency alleged that some so-called NPP members in Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency connived with the opposition NDC to ensure the defeat of Nana Akufo-Addo and the parliamentary candidate, Catherine Abelema Afeku.
“We have credible information that some of the traitors are in Accra claiming they worked for Nana Akufo-Addo, and therefore must be given juicy appointments,” he asserted.
He mentioned some of the party members who allegedly ensured the defeat of the NPP in the constituency as Selby Ogbamey, Bob Etsuah, Kwabena Yankah, Prof. Sagari Nokoe, Madam Dorcas Amoah and a host of others.
He said these people held meetings with the leadership of NDC in Nzema and were promised lofty positions if they helped the NDC parliamentary candidate and John Mahama win the elections in 2020.
“An agenda they executed to derail the political development of the NPP in Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira.
He said the group openly campaigned against President Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP parliamentary candidate in the just ended 2020 elections and that there were proofs to back their claim.
“We are also well informed that Mr. Ogbame solicited funds from top NPP members in Takoradi to support the NPP’s campaign in Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira, only to divert the funds to support the NDC’s campaign.
“In fact he paid electorates in the Gwira enclave of the constituency on election day to vote against Nana Akufo-Addo and our parliamentary candidate, Madam Afeku. Some NPP polling stations’ executives who were shocked by his evil attitude had an altercation with him,” he said.
Mr. Kainya said Mr. Ogbamey after achieving his alleged diabolic plan against his own party, called some polling station executives to beg them for his open campaign against the President.

Reacting to the allegations on behalf of the alleged detractors, Mr. Ogbamey denied that they masterminded the defeat of the NPP in the constituency.
He said he personally wanted to join the 2020 electioneering campaign in the constituency but he was not given the chance.
“They said when I join the campaign I would be popular because I had an ambition to contest the parliamentary primaries in the area. So how can we sabotage or cause our own party’s defeat,” he asked.
