POPULAR SINGER, Stonebwoy, is reportedly being chased by the police at Abuakwa, near Kumasi, to assist in a kidnapping case.

A Sprinter bus driver, identified as Akwasi Kyei, 31, was allegedly kidnapped by Stonebwoy and his friends, following a road crash.

Already, suspects Kwabena Kodua and Darkwa Musa Damian, said to be close associates of Stonebwoy, have been nabbed in connection with the case.

A police report that NEWS-ONE has spotted said around 2pm on January 2, 2021, driver Akwasi Kyei was reportedly kidnapped on the Bibiani-Kumasi road.

It said police got information that the kidnappers were heading to Kumasi from Bibiani with a Landcruiser car so the Abuakwa police was on alert.

The Abuakwa police eventually intercepted a hired Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GS 5646-17, driven by suspect Kwabena Kodua.

The police report disclosed that kidnapped victim, Akwasi Kyei, who is aged 31, was also on board the said vehicle, which has now been impounded.

Kyei, during an interview with the police, said his Sprinter Bus, registered AS 7666-14, was laden with people, from Bibiani to the Kumasi direction.

He said two speeding Landcruisers suddenly overtook his car and his vehicle accidentally hit the rear of one the Landcruisers, which allegedly had Stonebwoy onboard.

Kyei claimed that all occupants in the Landcruiser assaulted him, seized the ignition key of his car before taking him hostage in their Landcruiser and sped off.

“Victim has been issued with medical report form to attend hospital for treatment,” the police report said, adding that the Landcruiser had been impounded.

The report added that the Abuakwa Divisional Headquarters, were also holding suspect Kwabena Kodua and his accomplice Darkwa Musa Damian.

The police report also indicated that “Celebrity Stonebwoy is at large and efforts are being made to get him arrested” in connection with the case.
