The President of the United States, Joe Biden, is reportedly going to reinstate Coronavirus induced travel restrictions on a number of countries today, January 25, 2021.
The Associated Press (AP) First reported about the intended reinstatement of the restrictions.
According to reports, Mr Biden is
reversing an order from former President Donald Trump in his final days in office that pushed for the relaxation of the travel restrictions as of Tuesday.
Reports say South Africa is being added to the travel restrictions list due to the Biden administration’s concerns mutations in the virus.
The travel restrictions will be reinstated on non-US travelers from Brazil, Ireland, the United Kingdom, reports say.
The restrictions are also to be reinstated on non-US travelers from 26 other European countries that allow travel across open borders.
