MTN appoints four board members

MTN Ghana has appointed four new members onto its Board of Directors after two board members officially stepped down.

A statement issued in Accra by Pala Asiedu Ofori, the Company Secretary, said Kwasi Abeasi and Modupe Kadri stepped down effective March 1, 2021.

The four new Board Members are Felix Addo, Chartered Accountant, Nana Ama Botchway, Founder and Managing partner of Dowuona and Company; Kofi Dadzie, a digital entrepreneur, and Rosie Ebe-Arthur, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

The statement said Kwasi Abeasi joined the Board of MTN Ghana in 2011, as an Independent Non-Executive Director, bringing a wealth of experience onto it over his 10-year period of service.

Modupe Kadri joined MTN Ghana as Chief Financial Officer in 2014 and was appointed Executive Director in 2016, a position he held until February 2020, when he became a Non-Executive Director of the Company prior to his leaving.

The Board expressed gratitude to Messeurs Abeasi and Kadri for their sterling service and dedication to MTN and the impressive performance.

“We wish them every success in all their future endeavors,” it said.

Selorm Adadevoh, the CEO of MTN Ghana, welcomed the four new members, saying: “We are very excited to welcome very accomplished and diverse professionals to the MTN Ghana Board.”

He said as a Company that was transitioning into a full digital operator, they were happy to have them join to accelerate the process of giving their valued customers a distinct digital experience, whilst driving towards our 2023 ambition of becoming a digital operator.

Dr lshmael Yamson, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, said the new members should enhance and strengthen the performance of the oversight role of the Board.
