The Member of Parliament for Jaman North Constituency, Yaw Fredrick Ahenkwaa has cut sod for the construction of a cassava processing factory for the people of Jamera, in the Jaman North Constituency.
The initiative is in partnership with BOK Africa, IOM, and GIZ, non-governmental organizations which always campaign against irregular migration on the side of Ghanaian youth.
At the sod-cutting ceremony, Mr Ahenkwaa said the factory will assist most of the women with cassava processing machines in other to undertake their usual activities being gari processing.
He added that he will foot the bill of electrification of the Jamera and the already constructed Dawiri cassava processing factories to commence activities together for the development of the District and Ghana at large.
Nana Sah Fufuo II, Chief of Jamera also expressed his satisfaction to the stakeholders for the new factory and pleaded with the youth in the community to begin the preparation towards the acquisition of raw materials (cassava) for the factory to be in operation after completion.
He also urged Mr Frederick Ahenkwaa and other investors to support the people of Jaman North with capital to operate the factory.
Kwaku Yeboah, a representative from BOK Africa, IOM, and GIZ pleaded with the youth of Jamera to support the construction of the factory in kind as a contribution from the community to enable them to complete the structure on time.
