Christie Love Koufie presents the items to the school authorities, witnessed by other members of staff and students
OPPORTUNITY INTERNATIONAL Savings and Loans Limited (OISL), as part of its corporate social responsibility, has provided personal protective equipment (PPE) worth GH¢10,000 to the Akropong School for the Blind.
The items included 200 packs of surgical masks, 500 bottles of sanitisers and 300 packs of hand tissues.
Christie Love Koufie, Head of Transformation at Opportunity International Savings and Loans, indicated that the COVID-19 pandemic has called for institutions to support the vulnerable in the society.
She said Opportunity International was moved to present the PPE to its clients and members of the public to help combat the spread of COVID-19 in the various communities it operates.
She noted that Opportunity International Savings and Loans was the only financial institution that had a dedicated loan product dubbed ‘Empowerment Loan’ specifically tailored for people with disability.
The choice of the Akropong School for the Blind therefore emphasised its focus on the vulnerable in the community.
She continued that Opportunity International Savings and Loans continued to serve about 581,000 depositors with loans, deposit products and other financial and non-financial services across 10 out of the 16 regions of the country.
The company is one of the leading savings and loans companies in Ghana with 17 years experience in advancing financial inclusion and bringing clients into the mainstream financial services using innovative range of products and approaches.
