William Ruto to contest as president in Kenya’s 2022 elections

Kenya’s Deputy President, William Ruto, has announced that he is contesting the next elections in Kenya as President.

Kenya is scheduled to go to the polls in 2022.

Mr Ruto says he will be contesting on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket.

The Deputy President indicated that he was ready for the planned Jubilee-ODM coalition.

He left the coalition recently amid controversy.

Speaking on Sunday in Nairobi, Kenyan capial, Ruto bemoaned the “killing”of the ruling Jubilee party.

He vowed to establish a national party that would unite all regions ahead of the 2022 elections.
