Former UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin on Tuesday dragged Accra-based radio station, Hitz Fm on social media for saying Stonebwoy shut down the UK with his performance at the 02 Academy Islington.
The station in a bid to tout Stonebwoy’s performance shared a video of him performing at the 02 Academy and wrote; “A video of @stonebwoy shutting down U.K — 02 Academy Islington. #AnlogaJunctionUKTour.”
The comment to a large extent presupposes that the dancehall artiste secured a large audience at the show.
But Jon Benjamin was not enthused and raised a question about the expression; shutting down the UK.
According to him, the 02 Academy Islington is an 800 capacity auditorium, therefore questioning how that could be interpreted to mean “shutting down the UK.”
“Shutting down the UK”? The O2 Academy Islington has a capacity of 800,” he tweeted in response to Hitz FM’s comment on Tuesday.
A number of his followers also reacted to the tweet with a majority of them laughing at the whole situation.
Jon Benjamin is known for trolling some Ghanaian entertainers on Twitter for various reasons. One of such people is John Dumelo who he never stops reminding about his V8 saga.
Arguably the most controversial diplomat to ever come to Ghana, he has not gotten over Ghana yet.
