Black Stars line-up
The Black Stars will open camp tomorrow to begin preparations for next January’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS understands.
The four-time Africa champions are expected to pitch camp in Doha, Qatar, ahead of the championship scheduled for Cameroon early next year.
The Milovan Rajevac men will be in the Asian country for three weeks to fine tune their preparations for the biennial soccer festival.
While in Qatar, the team is expected to play some friendly matches to put their house in order before the competition.
Ghana are expected to play a yet-to-named club side on Tuesday, December 28, before taking on one of the Africa Cup of Nations qualified teams on Friday, January 1, 2022 in another friendly.
On January 5, the team will wrap up their test matches against Champions Algeria.
Ghana is housed in Group C alongside Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
The Stars will face North African side Morocco in the opening group C game in Yaounde.
The prestigious competition is scheduled from January 9 to February 6, next year.
Meanwhile, coach Rajevac was set to name a 26-man provisional squad for the tourney yesterday (before press time), with some key players expected to miss the Yaounde train.
