Reggae singer, Stonebwoy has joined his Ghanaian brother, Shatta Wale in bashing Nigerian artistes for not “reciprocating the love and support it receives particularly from Ghana.”
Stonebwoy weighed in on the Nigeria-hating trend started by Shatta Wale after he sold out the stadium as an headline artiste.
At the show, Shatta Wale had gone on a rant against Nigerians and Nigerian artistes, including using curse words. He sustained the rant on Twitter.
Some Nigerian entertainers have reacted to Shatta Wale’s insults but top artistes have mostly ignored him.
However, in a statement on Thursday, Shatta Wale gained the support of his countryman, Stonebwoy.
In a statement on his Twitter handle, Stonebwoy said, “My brother Shatta Wale’s approach may be wrong but the topic of our brother nation Nigeria not reciprocating the love and support it receives particularly from Ghana is valid and deserves critical attention.”
He also pinned the success of the Nigerian music industry on its population size.
Stonebwoy went on to state that “Accordingly, our Nigerian brothers must consider that with great power comes great responsibility of helping to forge a united African front by deliberately allowing music from the other African countries which pollinate Nigerian music to flourish on Nigerian platforms on local and international level.”
