Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku Mantey has commenced initiating various interventions at Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region validating snippets of information that he is eyeing the Parliamentary seat.
The Ayensuano parliamentary seat was snatched from the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, by the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC,
Teddy Safori Addi, the current NDC MP defeated then-incumbent MP, Ayeh Paye in the 2020 parliamentary elections.
However, the NPP wants to stage a strong comeback for the seat through the influence of Mark Okraku Mantey who hails from the Constituency.
In recent times, Mark Okraku Mantey has been organizing health screening and other social programmes in the Constituency.
He has been engaging the party base as well.
On Christmas Day, the former media personality and Music Producer threw a party for the constituents.
He subsequently posted on Facebook that “I spent my Christmas in my constituency; Ayensuano. I dined and interacted with residents who gathered at my family house at Krabokese on Tuesday. We took the opportunity to discuss steps that must be taken to ensure the rapid development of Ayensuano. As we begin a new year in a few days, I pray our plans to materialize for the benefit of the good people of Ayensuano”.
Meanwhile, the immediate past MP Ayeh Paye, is reported to also lacing his boot for a comeback to re-contest the party’s Parliamentary primaries while the current DCE Florence Govina seems to have also developed an interest in the same position.
