Anthony Woode, Jasmine Baroudi Others Win Big At 2021 Ghana Movie Awards

Actors Anthony Woode and Jasmine Baroudi have been adjudged best actor and actress in lead role performance at the 2021 edition of Ghana Movie Awards.

With his amazing performance in the movie Savannah,  Anthony Woode was able to wrestle the best actor award from fellow actors Kwadwo Osei Tutu, Eugene Boateng, Anwar Jamison, and Quasi Blay Jnr for their roles in the movies Uncharted Path, Borga, Coming To Africa and Cross respectively.

Jasmine on the other hand won the Best Actress category after beating talented actresses Habiba Sinare, Dela Seade, Ashley Oluigbo, and Nadia Buari.

The 2021 Ghana Movie Awards was held on December 30 via a virtual ceremony and broadcast on the award’s website. Several Ghanaian movie stakeholders picked various awards at the ceremony.

The Best Picture award went to the movie Borga, beating movies such as Sugar, Savannah, Coming To Africa, Cross, Shemale, The Therapist, Cold Road and Famous.

The Discovery of the Year award went to Eugene Boateng for his performance in Borga, while actress Lydia Forson also took the Best Supporting Actress award with the same movie.

Michael Narh won the Best Visual Effects category for the movie Cross.  Best Production Design also went to Borga – Production Design by Anthony Tomety and Set Decoration by Tanja Arlt, with Best Makeup & Hairstyling going to Forreal Joe Mensah. The Best Director went to York-Fabian Paabe. Kwadwo Osei Tutu and Ashley Oluigbo also took home Best Editing & Costume and Wardrobe prizes respectively for the movie titled Uncharted Path. KiDi’s Sugar was also adjudged Music Original Score.
